The haunted house- Childhood memory

This is a story I wrote about, its an old memory. We had to write a childhood memory about peaceful play, my story is about me staying at my friends house for two days, the first night I realized that his house was really hauunted.

Explanation writing, What does our school need??

A need in our school is an arcade/game room.

Year 7 and 8 students would like to have an arcade/game room because the year 7 and 8 students are always doing hard work, they don’t get any breaks besides morning tea and lunch. This would occupy the students and bring them together. It'll be a good place to chill out. year 7 and 8 students need a good place to take breaks from their bad and stressful times in their life. Gaming can also give you skills like good reflexes and Sniper games improves concentration skills. It can be used as a reward system and could improve your strategies of winning. Year 7 and 8 students could fundraise money for activities or events and gaming is a good way to improve fast thinking.

To me an arcade/game room would be important because some students have never heard of an arcade/game room in school so they would be super excited if they heard about, I would be thrilled to hear about this in our school. Gaming can help dyslexic people read better

Gaming can also give you skills like good reflexes and Sniper games improves concentration skills. It can be used as a reward system and could improve your strategies of winning. It could help fundraise money for activities or events and gaming is a good way to improve fast thinking. Even playing violent video games can help children read and improve their observation skills.

Life would be very easy and fun if there was an arcade/game room in school because if the teachers would be exhausted and find the easiest most possible way to

get their students out of the class, so that means every time a students asks the teacher if they can play in the arcade room they’ll say yes.

Arcade/game room is a real need in our School because of many different reasons. 1 reason is kids love video games because it helps them in every days life, it’s also fun and easy. Another reason is gaming is expand and evolving so if their friends get a new game or arcade machine they’ll want. If we had an arcade/game room we would show all four school values Whanaungatanga, Tukumarie, Rangimarie and Manaakitanga.

Sperm whale Explanation writing

I am the biggest in my pod and the strongest but I am not the fastest. I am the only whale to dive as deep as 1000 metres or more. I can hear almost everything and eat almost anything. I have the biggest brain in the whole wide world.

I may be an easy target but I'm hard to kill. If you kill me you either die trying or be the king of the deep. If you get caught in my mouth you will struggle but before you know it you're already in my stomach. I start the invasion on my prey, the Giant squid “Well to me they’re not that giant”.

I use my extra cool power called echolocation. Some fish might think I’m blind in the deep dark sea but I’m not, I can actually see.! “Hello hello Squidy Squidy what are doing? Are you ready to die?” I see my prey, I grab it, put it in my mouth and devour it whole. I need to go back up i'm full and ready to re-surface.

As I resurface I see a ship coming right towards me, I panic I ask my self “Am i gonna die?”. When I get to the top I take a deep breath and head back down.When I head down I feel a sting in my tail I try to get away as fast as I can but can't move it’s like moving but not moving. Minutes later another boat comes but heading directly into the other boat I’m scared But the other boat is throwing some bottle type shape onto the other ship and the other ship is squirting water over. I’m slowly falling asleep but then they let go of me and they run away the other ship comes closer to me but it’s much smaller I think they tried to save me ; When i reach the top  of the ocean I look at the big ship and I stare at the big letters on the ship I think it says Sea shepherd. I’m so relieved,

I thought I was going to be perfume or sushi God, thank the Sea Shepherd!. As I swim with the current I see my pod I swim to them but with pain. “I almost died”. Me and my pod of whales swim to New Zealand in search of much more delicious squid and maybe some King fish “ (you gotta love real New Zealanders)”. When I get to New Zealand I see the Sea Shepherd boat again and I think to myself ; Were they  New Zealanders?.  They must be because they are docked there. Another boat comes but with flashing lights “ Hey im famous” Then a helicopter I'm being lifted up into the air so is my pod.

They drop me off at a building into a big!! pool thing. I get shot by a gun but i’m not hurt They release me into the sea. They must be monitoring me now that means i’m not gonna be perfume “hurray”. I’m hungry now i’m gonna get some squid.

The unknown

THE UNKNOWN It is the year 2457, planet Earth, and the world is covered in unknown species, everyone is either alive or they are infected. Two soldiers, Master Chief and Colonel Higgins are in a frozen state sleeping in their capsules. They have been there since the year 2235, frozen in time. One night the alarm goes off. Weee wooooo weee Wooo!! They both wake up from their deep sleep, Master Chief yells “We are under attack!!”. Colonel Higgins gets up from his frozen slumber, leaps up and grabs a M67 and starts shooting towards the unknown. Chief jumps in the flying fury and warms it up, then Higgins flicks the button to turn the helicopter propeller on;

minutes later Colonel Higgins mans a cannon Boom, Crash, Bang the unknowns split in half. Colonel Higgins puts the automatic minigun on bbbbbbbbbbbbbbb repeatedly killing the unknown one by one. Master Chief radios other military bases “alert alert base Twinkle toe is under attack” but there is no response. For hours Master Chief and Colonel Higgins have been airborne “beep beep” goes the gas meter “Oh No”


says the Colonel, we are almost` out of fuel so they land the Flying fury at a Mcdonalds on the planet Phorser, hoping to find food. Master Chief secures the area; “clear” He says they both creep in. Higgins makes him a cheeseburger then he bites it; He spits the food out of his mouth, in it has 2 rusted rings inside the meat pattie. Master chief stares at Him. “Eww”, he says, that was close, I could have choked on that! Disgusting!”


 Moments later, they decide to get off this strange planet, they jump in the Flying fury. All of a sudden a horde of the unknown come running towards them “ohhhh oggg ooooo” they scream. Both of them man the cannons “puk puk puk puk” the cannons fire. As they fearlessly fight, an unknown runs from behind and grabs Colonel Higgins then bites Him. “Oh no!” yells Colonel Higgins “I'm infected”. Master tells him to lift off, they lift off to safety. Two days later, Colonel higgins is pale as an old bag. Master Chief has landed them on a safe planet which had safe hospitals where there are humans only, no unknowns.


Unfortunately it was too late for the Colonel. Both men knew what had to be done. Colonel whispered to Master Chief, “It's been an honour to work with you over these few years my friend, but you know what has to be done”. Master Chief silently nodded his head. he knew he had to kill his best friend. The Colonel looked at him and said “Its ok bro, do it, I don’t want to turn into one of those things”. Master Chief let out a big sigh, He knew what had to be done, “Ok, Its been a pleasure knowing you, see you on the other side”. And with that he injected a lethal poison into the Colonels arm. They looked at each other for a few seconds, nodded their heads and Colonel slowly closed his eyes, gone within a few seconds. Master Chief took one long last look at his friend, wished him goodbye, slowly stood up and walked out of the room.
